Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 16, 2026

This policy explains how Tippytale handles information when adults create personalized digital and printed storybooks.

1. Overview

Tippytale helps adults create personalized children's storybooks. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use Tippytale.

The service is designed for adults creating books for children, not for children to create accounts or submit personal information on their own.

The Terms and Conditions also apply to your use of Tippytale.

2. Information We Collect

Account information, such as your email address, name, avatar, authentication identifiers, and account activity.

Story information, such as child names, ages, pronouns, family roles, interests, personality details, values, story ideas, template choices, generated concepts, story text, generated artwork, selected versions, and editing choices.

Photo and appearance information, such as uploaded child or family photos, cropped images, image URLs, appearance descriptions, generated character images, cover images, page images, and related image versions.

Checkout and order information, such as purchased product tier, prices, delivery country, delivery quotes, shipping name and address, phone number, customer email, order status, tracking information, and print-provider information.

Support information, such as messages you send to TippyCare or support, reply email, page context, screenshots if submitted, release version, browser details, and recent failed-request context.

Usage, analytics, and technical information, such as device and browser details, page views, feature interactions, session state, referrer and campaign information, error reports, logs, and security events.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to create and personalize storybooks; generate characters, covers, pages, and print files; save your progress; manage your account; process payments; calculate delivery options; fulfill orders; provide support; troubleshoot errors; prevent abuse; improve reliability; measure product usage; and comply with legal obligations.

We also use information to send transactional messages, such as story-ready notifications, order updates, support replies, and service notices.

4. Child Information and Photos

Tippytale asks an adult to provide child information or photos only when needed for a personalized storybook experience. Do not provide a child's information unless you are the child's parent or legal guardian, or you have permission from the child's parent or legal guardian.

A child photo or appearance description may be used to create an illustrated character, cover direction, page artwork, and related book assets. A photo is not required in every flow; where available, you may describe appearance instead.

Uploaded photos, generated images, and shareable story content can be sensitive. They are not intended for public marketing pages, but image URLs or story share links may be accessible to anyone who has the exact URL or link.

5. AI and Service Providers

We use third-party providers for hosting, authentication, database storage, image storage, AI generation, payment processing, checkout, print fulfillment, email delivery, analytics, error reporting, and support operations.

These providers may process information on our behalf to deliver the service. For example, payment providers process checkout information, AI providers process story or image inputs to create outputs, image storage providers store uploaded or generated images, and print providers receive print files and shipping information for physical orders.

Provider availability, features, security practices, and processing rules may change over time. We work to limit sharing to what is needed for the product function, support, security, or legal requirement involved.

6. Analytics and Error Reporting

We use analytics and error-reporting tools to understand product usage, diagnose failures, improve reliability, and protect the service.

Our current analytics and error-reporting rules are designed to avoid sending sensitive free text and direct identifiers such as raw child names, story text, prompts, uploaded photo URLs, generated image URLs, shipping addresses, phone numbers, and customer emails as analytics properties or error context.

For visits attributed to Pinterest, we may offer an optional Pinterest measurement choice. If you allow it, the Pinterest tag measures eligible public page visits and completed purchases. Pinterest may receive standard technical information for eligible public page visits, such as the public page URL, referrer, screen dimensions, and cookie identifiers. Purchase events contain limited conversion details such as order ID, value, quantity, and currency. Automatic enhanced match is disabled, and we do not send names, email addresses, phone numbers, child details, photos, story content, or private creation-page visits to Pinterest through this tag.

7. Payments and Print Fulfillment

Payments are processed by Stripe or another payment provider. We do not need to store your full card number to operate Tippytale checkout.

For printed books, we collect and use shipping information, delivery selections, print files, order status, and tracking details to prepare and fulfill the order through print and delivery partners.

8. Sharing and Public Pages

If you generate or distribute a share link, people with that link may be able to view the shared story, including child names, generated artwork, and personalized story details.

Shared story pages are configured so they are not intended to be ordinary search-indexed landing pages, but search controls are not a privacy guarantee. Be careful when sharing links that include child or family details.

Tippytale's public SEO and template pages should not include private child details, uploaded photo URLs, generated child images, private story prompts, or private story text.

9. How Long We Keep Information

We keep information for as long as reasonably needed to provide Tippytale, preserve account and story access, fulfill orders, provide support, maintain records, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes.

We do not aim to keep child personal information indefinitely. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information, whether a story or order is active, whether a printed order has been submitted, and whether we need records for support, security, financial, legal, or operational reasons.

10. Your Choices

You may choose not to upload a photo in supported flows and provide a written appearance description instead.

You may choose whether to create or distribute a share link. Do not share a story if you are not comfortable with link recipients seeing the child and family details included in it.

You may contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or assistance with account, story, photo, or order information. Some information may need to be retained where required for completed transactions, legal obligations, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or security.

You may allow or turn off future Pinterest measurement at any time on this page. Your choice is stored in this browser.

Pinterest measurement: Off

This controls future Pinterest page-visit and purchase measurement on this browser. Turning it off stops Tippytale from sending new Pinterest tag events.

11. Children Under 13

Tippytale is for adults creating books for children. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create their own accounts or directly submit personal information without parent or guardian involvement.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided information directly to Tippytale without appropriate parent or guardian involvement, contact us at support@tippytale.com so we can review the situation and delete information where appropriate.

12. Security

We use technical and organizational measures intended to protect information, including authenticated account flows, access controls, encrypted transport, provider security features, and privacy-minded analytics and error-reporting rules.

No online service can guarantee perfect security. You should use care when uploading photos, sharing links, and managing account access.

13. International Use

Tippytale may use providers and infrastructure in different countries. By using the service, you understand that information may be processed and stored outside the country where you live, subject to applicable law and provider safeguards.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product, providers, law, or business changes. The updated version will be posted here with a new last-updated date.
